Becoming Dad: A Counseling Group
Becoming and living life as a Dad can be a wonderful, meaningful, life-changing experience… and it also can create serious challenges as you face a new set of expectations and requirements as a father. Beyond the very real “logistical gymnastics” that can be involved in parenting, you also face foundational questions on a regular basis such as:
What does it mean for you to be a Dad?
Who do you want to be as a Dad?
How do you grow and change as a Dad as your kid(s) also grow?
How does being a Dad now fit with other important roles and relationships in your life?
This group will address these and other related questions, with the goal of helping Dads to:
Explore, solidify, and express your strengths and values as a Dad
Make sense of the differences and similarities between your experience as a son, and your vision for yourself as a Dad
Develop strategies for balancing your identity as a Dad with other important roles and interests in your life
Group is facilitated by Kevin Tate, PhD & Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
