Heather Noto, LMHC, CGP
Welcome! I appreciate you taking time to consider working with me. My approach is open and direct yet non-judgmental and compassionate. You are the driving force in session, and I am here to guide and support you in your journey. Together we will work collaboratively to explore obstacles getting in the way of the life you envision. Outcomes in therapy depend on the willingness of both the therapist and the client to explore struggles as well as identify strengths you already have in collective partnership.
There are a variety of factors that get in our way of taking those first steps towards something different or facing what challenges you in life. Negative thoughts, emotions, and past painful events can serve as obstacles to moving forward. Sometimes it is as simple as telling ourselves we don’t deserve whatever it is we are seeking. By developing mindfulness-based techniques we can balance acceptance today and take steps towards the change you seek tomorrow. Above all, I believe in the ability for people to evolve and create change in their life.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Certification in Group Psychotherapy (CGP). Over the last 13+ years I have gone through my own journey of learning and developing as a counselor in a community mental health center, psychiatric emergency department, and private practice providing individuals, couples, groups, and families therapy, as well as supervision and consultation to professional colleagues. I have intensive training and experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group for adolescents and adults in addition to Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Interpersonal Therapy groups. My experience includes, but is not limited to adjustment to life events, depression, anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder), trauma/PTSD, substance use, problems within relationship, and personality concerns with both adolescents and adults.
I am grateful for the opportunity to support you in working towards your goals. Please call me or send me an email to schedule an appointment. I look forward to meeting you!
