Michele Martin, LMHC

Hello- thank you for visiting this site and reading a bit about me as you consider engaging in therapy. Glad you are here!

I bring to my counseling work a range of experience from agency, school, mental health clinic, and private practice settings. Over 20 years of delivering therapeutic services to youth and adults has provided me experience assisting clients with issues related to anxiety and depression, abuse and neglect, anger management, grief and loss, relational difficulties, intimate partner violence, re-entry after legal involvement, and various other life challenges from mild to severe. I know that some needs may not fit neatly into a label or category, so if the topic with which you desire support feels complicated or hard to define, that’s okay (and not atypical)!

I practice as a generalist and pull from cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, person-centered and various theoretical orientations to help people reduce or manage emotional pain and/or increase sense of well-being. I believe that increased awareness, growth, and healing is best facilitated in a safe, non-judgmental environment and that the therapeutic relationship is special and unique. I take seriously being entrusted with clients’ innermost thoughts and feelings and tailor therapy to each person’s unique situation. I define success as having helped to reduce suffering and/or having assisted with increasing clarity to overcome internal or external barriers to reaching personal goals or increased functioning. My style tends to be collaborative, insight-oriented and empathic.

If you think I may be a fit for your needs, please feel free to reach out! I look forward to the possibility of partnering with you on your journey.
